Susan Frankovich – New Moves & Combos

Learn fun and unique moves and combos, both fast and slow, which were created for the ATS/ITS format but can also apply to Tribal Fusion improvisation or choreography. After warming up we will dive right into the combos, and work on linking each one together with the last in an improvised series to help transitioning in and out of each move and/or combo. All that repetition helps solidify muscle memory so that you have something solid to walk away with. Some ATS knowledge is advantageous, but not required.

Susan Frankovich – Slow & Sassy ~ Layering Outside of the Box

This is not your typical layering workshop, as the layers will not pertain to working with simultaneous hip and upper body isolations. We will be working with long and luscious extension through the arms, expansion and contraction through the abdomen, and juicy hips, all with a bit of saucy attitude. There is a lot more to dancing than just the movements, and we will “play” a bit to bring out some of that inner sass, exploring your own musical interpretation, and to witness how different musical interpretations of different people can create a delightful treat for the eyes. We will begin with a warm up, technique, and drills to prepare for a free form choreography inspired by the music and liberating your newly discovered sass. Intermediate/Advanced.

Susan Frankovich – Creative Movement Creation

This workshop is meant to explore the choreographic process in a fun and creative way to break you out of the “same old Thang” so you can create a new and interesting movement vocabulary and discover shapes you would never have thought of otherwise. It’s also helpful in training your eye so you have a more solid idea of what works, what doesn’t, and why. There will be dance and discussion and you may be pushed outside of your comfort zone, but this is the best way to make a breakthrough and you will be happy that you tried.
